sojourners & exiles

Believers are Citizens of the Kingdom while on earth. We await our true home.

WE ARE SOJOURN

WE SOJOURN

SOJOURN: [VERB] TO LIVE, STAY, OR TARRY IN A PARTICULAR PLACE FOR A TEMPORARY TIME.

SOJOURN: [NOUN]  |  { SŌ-ˌJƏRN } |  A TEMPORARY STAY.

SOJOURNER: [NOUN] | { SŌ-ˌJƏRNER } | ONE TRAVELING THRU ON A TEMPORARY JOURNEY

WHY THE NAME SOJOURN?

ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE, THIS EARTH IS NOT THE TRUE LASTING HOME FOR ANY OF US. WE ARE LIVING HERE TEMPORARILY.

FOR THOSE "IN CHRIST," HEAVEN IS OUR TRUE ETERNAL HOME.

WE ARE SOJOURNERS, LIVING AS ALIENS AND STRANGERS, AWAITING OUR TRUE HOME.

You might be surprised to see how many times the noun “Sojourners” or the verb “Sojourned” is in the Bible.

Sojourn in parts of the Bible.

1 Peter 2:11–12

[11] Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. [12] Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

THERE IS AN END COMING. ARE YOU PREPARED?
